Mayor Proclaims August 7th as Sidney Crosby Day

(Thursday, August 6, 2009) Mayor Peter Kelly has proclaimed August 7, 2009, as Sidney Crosby Day and will present Sidney with an official Proclamation at Friday’s Sidney Crosby Stanley Cup Celebration being held at Cole Harbour Place.

“Sidney Crosby serves as a role model of hockey skill, sportsmanship and leadership for young hockey players throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality, Canada, and around the world,” says Mayor Kelly. “The citizens of HRM have followed Sidney Crosby’s hockey career with pride and enthusiasm and as he brings home the Stanley Cup, it is only fitting that HRM honours “Sid the Kid” with this recognition.”
