Nominations Sought for Mayor’s Awards for
Literary Achievement and Excellence in Book Illustration

(Tuesday, March 2, 2010) - Mayor Peter Kelly is seeking nominations for the 12th Annual Mayor’s Awards for Literary Achievement and Excellence in Book Illustration. Both awards will be presented by the Mayor at the Atlantic Book Awards at Alderney Landing on April 14, 2010.

1. A $1,500 prize will recognize excellence in book illustration by a resident illustrator, artist, or photographer of the Halifax Regional Municipality.

2. A $1,500 prize for literary achievement will recognize outstanding literary contributions made by a resident of the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Nominations must be received by: Friday March 19, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.
