Nova Scotia Recycles Contest Honours Winners from Halifax Regional Municipality

(Monday, April 26, 2010)-- News media are invited to attend a dinner celebration to recognize forward-thinking students from HRM as part of the 10th annual Nova Scotia Recycles Contest.

Sponsored by RRFB Nova Scotia and hosted by Halifax Regional Municipality, the dinner ceremony honours student entrants in grades primary to twelve.

The contest is designed to recognize student participation in recycling and composting programs, and to celebrate the ongoing role of Nova Scotia youth in making this province a recognized leader in waste reduction.

This year, students from the following schools will be recognized:
? Harbourview School
? Inglis St School
? Millwood Elementary
? Astral Drive Elementary
? Ecole Bois-Joli
? Atlantic Memorial Terence Bay
? Harry R Hamilton Elementary
? Crossroads Academy
? Crichton Park School
? Ecole Beaubassin
? Park West School
? Bedford Junior High
? Citadel High School
? Sackville High School

The Nova Scotia Recycles contest is launched each fall and offers over $55,000 in cash and prizes throughout the province.
