Municipal Equipment Display at the Grand Parade

(Wednesday, May 12, 2010) -- Millions of dollars worth of municipal service equipment will be on display Friday, May 21, 2010 in the Grand Parade, as part of Halifax Regional Municipality's celebration of “National Public Works Week”. The theme for this year’s event is “Above, Below & All Around You”.

HRM Transportation & Public Works’ representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment ( i.e., street sweepers, sewer pumpers, backhoes, dump and plow trucks, etc.) and to explain how the many municipal services are delivered to the public.

Crews will begin moving the heavy equipment and displays into place early Friday morning and the public is invited to drop by and visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children,
accompanied by parents, and school groups are welcome.
