Southend Halifax Road Construction
(Wednesday, May 12, 2010) -Attention motorists,road construction onSouth Park St.from Fenwick St. to The VG Hospital Parking Lot entrance on South Park St. is complete and traffic flow has been restored.
The next phase of the project will get underway May 13th and will require the closure of South Street from the intersection of South Park and South Streets to the intersection of Queen and South Streets. There will be no through traffic. Access will be maintained for Local Traffic only on South Street between Queen and South Park Streets. Traffic heading east on South Street will be required to turn right or left onto South Park Street at the South Street intersection.
There will be no left (eastbound) turns onto South Street for traffic traveling south (outbound) on South Park Street.
There will be no right (eastbound) turns onto South Street for traffic traveling north (inbound) on South Park Street.
Sidewalk access will be maintained.
Generally the work involves paving, sidewalk/curb replacement, and landscape restoration.
The duration of construction is approximately 9 days.
Please note, all shops and services adjacent to the work zone will remain open during the construction period.
Municipal service disruptions, if required, will be kept to a minimum durationand affected residents and businesses will be notified in advance.
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption.
The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm, with weekends as required.
