(Wednesday, May 19, 2010) - Attention motorists, road construction on South Street from the intersection of South Park and South Streets to the intersection of Queen and South Streets has been completed 2 days ahead of schedule and traffic flow has been restored.

The next phase of the project will get underway May 20th. This preliminary work will involve the raising of manholes on Fenwick St. in preparation for paving work scheduled to get underway Tuesday May 25th.

During this work, there will be stop and go traffic, during works hours, on Fenwick St, from South Park to Queen Streets.

There will be no on-street parking in the work zone for the duration of the construction.

The duration of construction is approximately 4 days.

Generally the work involves paving, sidewalk/curb replacement, and landscape restoration.

Please note, all shops and services adjacent to the work zone will remain open during the construction period.

Municipal service disruptions, if required, will be kept to a minimum duration and affected residents and businesses will be notified in advance.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm, with weekends as required.
