Sambro Sou’Wester Days 2010

(Friday, July 30, 2010) - Residents of HRM are advised that Sambro Sou’Wester Days, an event made possible by funding from Canadian Heritage - Building Communities through Arts and Culture and Halifax Regional Municipality, presented by the Mainland South Heritage Society will take place August 13, 2010 in and around the Sambro area. This event is to celebrate the 252nd anniversary of the founding of the Sambro Island Lighthouse, the oldest operating lighthouse in North America.

There will be lots of activities for everyone including a parade, local entertainment, tournaments, water tours to the Sambro Island Lighthouse, children’s activities, adult dance and closing fireworks on Sunday at 10:00 p.m. at Crystal Crescent Beach.
