Lifeguards Back on Some HRM Beaches Due to Steamy Forecast

(Monday, August 30, 2010) - Due to the hot weather forecast for today through Wednesday, September 1, HRM will have Lifeguard Service at the following Beaches and Outdoor Pools:

Birch Cove Beach - Dartmouth - 11 - 5 PM
Shubie Beach - Dartmouth - 11 - 5 PM
Chocolate Lake Beach - Halifax - 11 - 5 PM
Kearney Lake Beach - Halifax - 11 - 5 PM

Also, the Bedford Outdoor Pool - Bedford will be open for recreational swimming (call 490-4682 for a swim times and prices).

Lifeguard services had ended for the season on Sunday at municipal beaches and outdoor pools, but the unusually warm weather led to a decision to use the limited staff available to open the busiest beaches for three more days.
