Supervision extended through Thursday on some HRM beaches

(Thursday, September 2, 2010) - Due to the unusually hot weather, HRM will be continuing lifeguard service on some of its beaches throughout today, Thursday, September 2.

Lifeguards will be at the following beaches from Noon - 6 PM:

Birchcove Beach - Dartmouth
Shubie Park Beach - Dartmouth
Chocolate Lake Beach - Halifax
Kearney Lake Beach - Halifax

As well, the Bedford Outdoor Pool will be open from 4 PM - 6 PM for a special after school swim.

"These extended hours will give kids a way to beat the heat after school and allow others to get a break from the afternoon sun," said HRM Aquatic Services Coordinator John Henry.
