PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Kearney Lake Road - Highway #102 - Road Construction

(Friday, September 24, 2010) - Attention motorists, 4 lane, 2-way traffic flow has been restored from the intersection of Dunbrack St. and Kearney Lake Rd. to just north of the intersection of Grosvenor Road and Kearney Lake Road.

The next phase of the water main sliplining project, being undertaken by Dexter Construction on behalf of Halifax Water, will see construction progress along Kearney Lake Rd. just north of Grosvenor Road, to just south of the intersection of Highway #102.

This work is to allow for excavation of access pits in the road.   The duration of construction is approximately 6 weeks.

Two lane, two way traffic flow will be maintained. All traffic will be re-routed to inbound lanes. There will be no loss of municipal services.  Sidewalk access will be maintained.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes where possible and to proceed carefully through the work zone. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones. Motorists are also asked to use extreme caution and be very diligent when driving through the area as it is a busy school zone.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure work may cause.
