HRM and Partners to host free guided trail tours
(Thursday, October 14, 2010) - To launch the second edition of its widely popular Get Out...Check It Out Regional Trails Booklet, HRM has partnered with Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection, the Halifax Regional School Board and the Halifax Regional Trails Association to present two guided trail tours in Halifax.
On Saturday, October 16th, Councillor Sue Uteck and players from DaPoPo Theatre will be on hand to meet residents of HRM and guide them through a historical tour of Point Pleasant Park. Those wishing to participate should meet at Point Pleasant Park’s Lower Parking Lot at 2p.m.
On Sunday, October 17th, Councillor Linda Mosher and players from DaPoPo Theatre will be on hand to meet residents of HRM and guide them through a historical tour of Sir Sanford Fleming Park. Those wishing to participate should meet at the canteen in Sir Sanford Fleming Park at 2p.m.
All trail tours will be a total of one hour in length and will take place rain or shine. Be sure to dress for the weather, wear comfortable footwear and bring snacks and water for you and your family.
In addition to these tours, there will be two more tours taking place in HRM on October 23rd and 24th to launch the new Get Out...Check It Out booklet. To get more information on trails in HRM and information on our guided trail tours, please visit www.halifax.ca.
