Earth Adventures in the Halifax Region is launched

(Friday, October 15, 2010) School children, Provincial and Municipal Government Officials and a cast of colourful characters joined the authors of Earth Adventures in the Halifax Region in launching the book’s third edition at The Trail Shop in downtown Halifax on Thursday. Earth Adventures in the Halifax Region highlights 24 Nature Trails in HRM and gives parents and children the ability to enjoy each of these trails through role playing and games.

Authors George Taylor (HRM Outdoor Specialist), Dr. Alan Warner (Associate Professor, Acadia University) and Janet Barlow (Coordinator, Ecology Action Centre) were all on hand to share the launch of the third edition with the very people that the book was written for - children and families.

‘In an age where recreation and fun seem to cost families more and more, the only thing needed from a parent to enjoy these stories and adventures with their children is their time and their enthusiasm’, said Dr. Warner.

Earth Adventures in the Halifax Region is available at most HRM book stores and proceeds from the book’s sale will go towards sending children with financial needs to summer camps.
