Metro Transit Service on Remembrance Day

(Wednesday, November 10, 2010) Halifax, NS - Metro Transit conventional buses, Access-A-Buses and the Alderney Ferry will operate on holiday schedules on Remembrance Day, November 11, 2010.

The Alderney Ferry will provide 30-minute service with the first boat departing Dartmouth at 7:30 am, an hour later than usual. The last vessel will depart Halifax at 11:45 pm.

There will be no Woodside Ferry service, MetroLink, MetroX, or Community Transit bus service in operation on Remembrance Day.

Metro Transit buses will pause on Remembrance Day at 11:00 am to observe a moment of silence in honour of Canada’s war veterans and fallen peace officers.

Metro Transit bus operators will pull any in-service buses to the side of the road where possible and pay tribute to our war veterans with our passengers, “Lest we forget”.
