BMO Centre hosts ‘Learn to Sledge’ Hockey Celebration and Open House
(Thursday, December 2, 2010)-- Members of the media are invited to attend a demonstration and celebration of HRM’s only ‘Learn to Sledge’ Hockey program for children on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10a.m.
Many partners have collaborated to make this program a reality including: HRM Community Recreation Services, Easter Seals of Nova Scotia, Hockey Nova Scotia, the IWK Community Grant Foundation, IWK Pediatric Recreation Services, and the Nova Scotia Department of Health, Promotion and Protection. Tim Outhit, HRM Councillor for Bedford, will be in attendance to welcome participants and congratulate the program’s organizers.
Sledge Hockey is played like any hockey game played on rinks across Canada. The players use sleds on the ice and encourages participation from both able-bodied and disabled players.
