‘Waterfalls’ Community Art Piece to be Celebrated
(December 6, 2010) HRM Community Recreation Services is inviting residents of the Spryfield Community and members of the media to a celebration of the new ‘Waterfalls’ community art piece that was recently placed in the main foyer of the Captain William Spry Community Centre. The celebration will take place at the Centre on Tuesday, December 7th at 4 PM.
This innovative community art piece took sculptures created by local area residents and has incorporated them into one waterfall that symbolizes the community’s closeness to the water. Residents who contributed to the project and the artist, Miro Davis, who organized the piece, will all be on-hand to celebrate their accomplishments.
‘Waterfalls’ is a true example of how a community can come together to create a piece that represents all of the individuals within it.
