Canada Games Oval Grand Opening Scheduled for Today

(Monday, December 20, 2010) - The Grand Opening for the Canada Games Oval on the North Common will take place today (Dec. 20) at 5 p.m. followed by the first public skate, weather depending.

The Canada Games Oval will be the largest artificial ice surface east of Quebec City and will be featured as HRM’s marquee outdoor venue for the Halifax 2011 Canada Games from February 11th to 27th.

The Grand Opening program begins at 5 p.m. followed immediately by the first public skate.

Grand Opening events are kindly sponsored by Bell Aliant.

A CSA approved multi-impact helmet is required for children 12 and under and encouraged for all others.
