GET ON BOARD TRANSIT’S HOLIDAY & NEW YEAR’S EVE SERVICE

(Wednesday, December 21, 2010) Halifax, NS - Metro Transit is pleased to offer HRM residents a safe transportation option throughout the holiday season. Details of holiday transit service include:

Conventional Bus & Access-A-Bus:
Friday, Dec. 24: Regular weekday service
Saturday, Dec. 25: Holiday Service*
Sunday, Dec. 26: Holiday Service*
Friday, Dec. 31: Extended weekday service on designated routes for NYE (see below)
Saturday, Jan. 1: Holiday Service*
Sunday, Jan. 2: Regular Sunday service

MetroLink, MetroX, Community Transit & Woodside Ferry:
Friday, Dec. 24: Regular weekday service (Extended 30 minute service on Woodside Ferry from 11:22 am - 6:07 pm)
Saturday, Dec. 25: No service
Sunday, Dec. 26: No service
Friday, Dec. 31: Regular weekday service
Saturday, Jan. 1: No service
Sunday, Jan. 2: No service

Alderney Ferry:
Friday, Dec. 24: Regular weekday service
Saturday, Dec. 25: No service
Sunday, Dec. 26: Regular Sunday service
Friday, Dec. 31: Extended weekday service for NYE (see below)
Saturday, Jan. 1: No service
Sunday, Jan. 2: Regular Sunday service

Free New Year’s Eve Service
Metro Transit is proud to celebrate the 25th year of its Free Designated Driver Service on New Year’s Eve with the generous support of our sponsors: Amalgamated Transit Union Local 508, Chronicle Herald, Olands Brewery, Q104, and Safety Services Nova Scotia. Extended service will be offered free on designated bus and ferry routes* as follows:

Conventional Bus & Access-A-Bus: 8:30 pm - onward
Alderney Ferry: 8:30 pm - 1:45 am

*Excludes MetroLink, MetroX, Community Transit and Woodside Ferry
