Skate on “Big Ice” this Holiday Season
(Friday, December 24, 2010) - The Canada Games Oval on the Halifax North Common will be open most days over the holidays. Public skating is offered all day every day unless otherwise noted. Visit skatehrm.ca for a full calendar of events and programs including learn to skate and learn to speed skate classes, and a New Year’s Eve party unlike any other.

7:30 pm - Music by the Telfer Band and DJ Skratch Bastid
Skating will run until midnight so skaters can welcome in the New Year on the “Big Ice” on the Common.

The Oval is an outdoor venue. As such, all dates and times are subject to change. Visit skatehrm.ca to confirm events, for condition updates, and to view a calendar of Oval programs, or call the Oval Information Line at 490-2347 for schedule changes due to weather or other conditions.
The Canada Games Oval is the largest artificial ice surface east of Quebec City and will be featured as HRM’s marquee outdoor venue for the Halifax 2011 Canada Games from February 11th to 27th.
A CSA approved multi-impact helmet is required for children 12 and under and encouraged for all others. Free skate and helmet lending is available on-site.
