Call for Interest: Cultural Facility Management Training

(Friday, January 28, 2011) - Halifax Regional Municipality has partnered with Toronto’s Artscape to offer training in the operation of cultural facilities. Representatives from Artscape will be meeting with interested organizations on February 7 to discuss this training opportunity and organizations’ plans for cultural facility management and operation. Artscape will then be selecting organizations to participate in their Mentorship and Coaching Program, April 2011-July 2012.

Established in 1986, Artscape is a not-for-profit, urban development organization that revitalizes buildings, neighbourhoods and cities through the arts. Artscape projects provide affordable space for creativity while generating positive cultural, economic, social and environmental impacts. Artscape’s Mentorship and Coaching Program is designed to build the capacity of organizations across Canada, and internationally, to develop the strategic, organizational and individual leadership skills to grow an Artscape-like organization and to develop multi-tenanted creative and cultural facilities in their own communities.

Interested organizations are asked to submit a letter of interest detailing their rationale for inclusion, their cultural facility experience, and their future goals. Letters must be received by Wednesday, February 2, 2011.
