Snow Removal Update - HRM Continues to Urge Caution for Motorists Today and Tomorrow

(February 2, 2011) - As of 8:15 am today, P1 HRM roads had been cleared and 75 percent of the P2 roads have had cut-throughs for vehicle access.

Three-quarters of the P1 (Arterial) and P2 (Transit) sidewalks had a single pass on them.

Crews are finishing the P2 street work and preparing for the snow starting mid-day today, with a forecast predicting up to a 40 cm in additional snowfall amounts.

The next service update will be provided at 4 pm today and will be posted at: http://www.halifax.ca/snow/ .

As always, residents are asked to ensure vehicles are not left on the street to obstruct snow removal operations.

In emergency situations, please call 911 and the dispatchers there will contact Municipal Operations if they require immediate snow removal.
