HRM Snow Event Clearing Update

(Sunday, February 6, 2011) Since last evening's snow and rainfall, HRM Winter Works crews have been busy clearing P1 and P2 roads. These are now mostly clear, with some slippery sections. Gravel roads are especially slippery, however and are being ice- bladed and sanded to give a degree of traction.

Crews are dealing with on-street flooding issues on a priority basis.

Sidewalks have been scraped where necessary and all are salted, however it is expected there will be significant areas where ponding occurs because of high snow banks. Crews will be out through the night to deal with the expected flurry activity and temperature drop.

Work on the capital district snow removal will continue as per the schedule at www.halifax.ca.
