Canada Games Flag Raising to Take Place in Celebration Square Wednesday

(February 7, 2011) HRM Mayor Peter Kelly will raise the Canada Games flag in the Grand Parade on Wednesday, February 9 at 10 am. He will be joined by Jean-Paul Deveau, Chair of the Halifax 2011 Canada Games, as well as HRM Councillors and members of the Games' Board of Directors.

The flag will be flown during the Games in Grand Parade, or Celebration Square as it will be known throughout the competition. The flag has travelled across the country since Fall 2010, a trip which symbolizes the spirit of unity this national competition of Canada's best young athletes represents.
