(February 11, 2011) -The following schedule reflects the remainder of the Downtown snow removal efforts of the HRM Winter Works crew as of Sunday, February 13 (evening) into Monday, February 14, 2011:

East Region

The night shift will be doing street widening in the Capital District first, then expanding outside to other areas. This will take place between 11 pm and 6 am. This work will be done by the blower doing curb cuts, with snow removal completed at intersections.

In Dartmouth, the following areas will be affected:

- The block section From King Street to Victoria Road between Park Street and Ochterloney Street.

- The block from Victoria Road to Maple Street between Thistle Street to Ochterloney Street.

- The block from Maple Street to Creighton Ave between Thistle Street and Creighton Ave.

Supervisors will provide updates on new areas as work proceeds during the week.

West Region

In Halifax, snow removal will continue on February 14 from 1 am to 6 am on the following streets:

- Sackville St from Brunswick to Lower Water
- Barrington Duke to Spring Garden Road
- Gottingen Street from Rainnie Drive, heading North
- Albemarle Street, if time permits

In the event of any new snow, HRM crews will switch back to salting and plowing operations and will revert back to street widening as conditions allow.

As always, residents are asked to ensure vehicles are not left on the street to obstruct snow removal operations. In emergency situations, please call 911 and the dispatchers there will contact Municipal Operations if they require immediate snow removal.
