Peggy’s Cove Bicentennial Celebration Line-up Announced
(March 30, 2011) - A news conference will be hosted by the Peggy’s Cove Bicentennial organizing committee on Friday April 1st to kick-off the 200th Bicentennial birthday celebrations for Peggy’s Cove, one of the most widely visited tourist attractions in Canada.
WHEN: Friday, April 1st at 10 a.m.
WHERE: Sou’Wester Restaurant and Gift shop in Peggy’s Cove
WHAT: Come hear District 22 Councillor Reg Rankin and John Campbell, Chair of the Peggy’s Cove Bicentennial organizing committee describe the planned celebrations for this year’s Peggy’s Cove Bicentennial.
The event will also feature opportunities to see fishing demonstrations, local musicians, a tour of historic Peggy’s Cove, a complimentary pass for two for a Lobster Boat Tour.
Peggy’s Cove was originally founded in 1811 when King George III of England issued land grants to six founding families who settled in the area known as Peggy’s Cove, N.S.
