Second Annual Immigrant Volunteer Community Fair

(Thursday, June 2, 2011) - New Canadians interested in volunteer opportunities are invited to connect with local organizations during the second annual Immigrant Volunteer Community Fair, June 9 and 10 at St. Andrews Community Centre.

Hosted by Halifax Regional Municipality, Immigrant Settlement and Integration Services (ISIS), and the YMCA Centre for Immigrant Programs, this event is organized to provide immigrants with the opportunity to learn about volunteerism in Canada and how to become involved in their community.

Dates & Times: Thursday, June 9, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
                           Friday, June 10, 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Location: St. Andrews Community Centre, 3380 Barnstead Lane (off of Bayers Road)

A session for volunteer coordinators on immigrant volunteer recruitment and promotion will be offered on Friday morning. Entertainment and refreshments will be provided.
