HRM Offers Tour of Recycling Facility

(Thursday, August 18, 2011)-- Members of the media are invited to take a tour of HRM’s processing facility to get an up-close experience of how blue bag recyclables are processed.

When: Friday, August 19, 2011

Time: 10 a.m.

Where: HRM’s Miller Waste Processing Facility, 20 Horseshoe Lake Drive,        Bayer's Lake Park, Halifax

Effective September 1st, HRM is expanding its “What Goes Where?” blue bag recycling program to include all plastics. Styrofoam will continue to be placed in the garbage.

Please note HRM will provide hard hat, safety vest and eyewear for the media. Please note for footwear, no open toe shoes are permitted on the plant floor.
