Public Exhibition of Short-listed Works for the Contemporary Visual Art Purchase Program

(Friday, August 26, 2011) - Mayor Peter Kelly and members of Halifax Regional Council invite residents to view a public exhibition of the short-listed works for HRM's 3rd Annual Contemporary Visual Art Purchase Program.

Short-listed artists are:
• Valerie Salez
• Juan Ortiz-Apuy
• Aimée Henny Brown
• Yorodeo (Seth Smith and Paul Hammond)
• Scott Bertram

The exhibit is being held in Halifax Hall, Halifax City Hall, from September 1 until October 3.

An opening reception will take place on Wednesday, September 7 from 5-7 p.m. Interested members of the public are invited to attend this event.

The exhibition will be open to the public Mondays from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., and Fridays from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.; please note the exhibition will be closed to the public Labour Day and Thanksgiving Day.

The announcement of this year’s winner and runners-up will take place on Friday, October 14, 2011.
