PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Labour Day Solid Waste Collection Notice

(Tuesday, August 30, 2011) - Residents of HRM are advised that there will be no regular municipal curbside solid waste collection services provided on Labour Day, Monday, September 5, 2011. For HRM residents who normally receive garbage, green cart and recyclables collection services on Monday, September 5th, your alternate collection date will be the preceding Saturday, September 3rd.

The Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facilities, the two Composting Facilities and the HRM Recycling Plant will be closed on Labour Day, Monday, September 5th, but will be open on Saturday, September 3rd with regular operating hours.

The HRM’s residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot will be closed Saturday, September 3rd but will be open Saturday, September 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
