PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Thanksgiving Day Collection Notice

(Tuesday, October 4, 2011) - HRM would like to advise residents there will be no regular municipal solid waste collection services provided on Thanksgiving Day, Monday, October 10, 2011. Collection of garbage, organics or recyclables normally scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, Monday, October 10th will be provided the preceding Saturday, October 8th.

The Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facility, the two Composting Facilities and the HRM Recycling Plant at 20 Horseshoe Lake Drive will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Monday, October 10th but will be open on Saturday, October 8th with normal operating hours.

The Halifax Regional Municipality's residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot will be closed Saturday, October 8th but will be open Saturday, October 15th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
