October 9-15 is Fire Prevention Week

(Friday, Oct. 7, 2011) - Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency would like to remind residents about fire safety during Fire Prevention Week, October 9-15. This year's theme is “Fire Safety at Home” with an emphasis on match and lighter safety.

A number of fire prevention and education activities have been planned throughout the week, including a fire prevention contest for all participating HRM elementary schools, and fire education exhibits at several locations on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
