Phase 2 of Traffic Changes in Downtown Halifax in Effect Today

Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 – HRM would like to remind residents that effective today, Monday, Oct. 17, traffic flow on Lower Water Street has converted to one-way only in the north-bound direction.

Initiated by a recommendation from HRMbyDesign and developed through public consultation, the changes in street direction will allow for new bike lanes and on-street parking spaces.

This is the second set of changes to traffic direction downtown. One more phase, which will include additional downtown streets, is scheduled for March 2012.
