Natural Gas Pipeline Installation – Pleasant Street and Main Road

Wednesday, May 9, 2012 – Beginning Thursday May 10, a natural gas main installation project will commence on Pleasant Street and Main Road from Hwy 111 (Circumferential Highway) to CFB Shearwater.

The work will take place Monday to Friday for approximately 12 weeks, starting at CFB Shearwater and progressing toward the Woodside area of Dartmouth. The traffic control setup for the first phase – CBF Shearwater to approximately Everette Street – will be as follows:

From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., two lanes northbound (Dartmouth-bound) will be maintained and one lane southbound (Eastern Passage-bound) will be maintained.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., one lane in each direction will be open at all times.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., one lane northbound (Dartmouth-bound) will be maintained and two lanes southbound (Eastern Passage-bound) will be maintained.

Three lanes are to remain open during the peak hours in order to minimize delays to motorists; however, some delays are still expected. All lanes will be open to traffic when the site is inactive.

Heritage Gas and HRM apologize in advance for any inconvenience these delays may cause.
