Council rescinds motion for sale of former school, directs staff to bring back additional information

(Wednesday, January 11, 2012) – Council voted last night to rescind its approved motion of Dec. 13, 2011 to proceed with the sale of the surplus St. Patrick’s – Alexandra School, 2277 Maitland St. Council also directed staff to come back with a report answering questions regarding the school disposal.

On Dec. 13, 2012, Council approved the recommendation of municipal staff to enter into an Agreement of Purchase and Sale with the highest scoring proponent of a Request for Proposals for the disposal of the school. The motion of rescission means the Dec. 13 motion is no longer valid, but the matter will be referred for future consideration by Council based upon the previous staff report and the supplemental information.
