(Thursday, March 1, 2012)— Interested HRM residents are invited to participate in an online survey to provide feedback for HRM’s Culture Awards Program Review.
The current award program includes the Mayor’s Awards, the Contemporary Visual Arts Purchase Program, and the Mayor’s Poet Laureate. The Mayor’s Awards include Literary Achievement, Excellence in Book Illustration, Established Theatre Artist and Emerging Theatre Artist.
Through the review process, HRM is seeking feedback specifically on the Mayor’s Awards and the Contemporary Visual Arts Purchase Program.
In February 2012, HRM conducted a series of focus group meetings with stakeholders. The focus groups are one way of receiving feedback on the current award program structure and provided a forum to discuss potential opportunities and program changes. These meetings and the public survey will inform HRM staff recommendations to Halifax Regional Council.
