HRM's 2013-14 budget approval process
Tuesday, April 23, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – HRM Regional Council is entering the final phase of the approval process for the 2013-14 consolidated budget.
HRM’s Chief Administrative Officer Richard Butts and Chief Financial Officer Greg Keefe will present the proposed 2013-14 operating and project budgets to the Audit and Finance Standing Committee of Council tomorrow, April 24, at 9:30 a.m. Hard copies of the proposed budget book will be distributed to all members of Council and media at the meeting, and will be available for public viewing online at 9:30 a.m. at www.halifax.ca/budget.
Members of the public can watch the budget presentation and deliberations of the Audit and Finance committee online at www.halifax.ca/council/live/video.php, and view the meeting agenda at www.halifax.ca/boardscom/SCfinance/AuditandFinanceApril24.php.
The Audit and Finance committee will make a recommendation on the proposed 2013-14 budgets to Regional Council for their consideration and debate at their next meeting on Tuesday, April 30. The April 30 Regional Council meeting agenda with reports and start time will be available here www.halifax.ca/council/agendasc/cagenda.php on Friday afternoon, April 26.
Regional Council meetings are live streamed on HRM’s website at www.halifax.ca/council/live/video.php and broadcast on channel 10 on Eastlink television. All Regional Council meetings held to deliberate the budget next week will be live steamed on the website.
