Labour Day Solid Waste Collection Notice

Wednesday, August 28, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - Residents of Halifax Regional Municipality are advised that there will be no garbage, organics or recyclables collection services on Labour Day, Monday, September 2, 2013. For those residents who receive garbage, green cart and recycling collection on Monday, their alternate collection day will be the preceding, Saturday, August 31, 2013.

Collection services can begin as early as 7:00 a.m. To ensure collection, residents may place materials curbside the evening prior to collection day.
The Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facilities, the two Composting Facilities and the HRM Recycling Plant will be closed on Labour Day, Monday, September 2, but will be open on Saturday, August 31 with regular operating hours.

The HRM’s residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot will be closed Saturday, August 31, but will be open on Saturday, September 7th from 9 am to 4 pm.
