Mayor and Council set to take a bike ride through downtown Halifax to promote Bike Week 2013
Monday, May 13, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – Mayor Savage and Councillors will take to the streets tomorrow for a fun, casual bike ride through downtown Halifax in a show of support for making the city more bike-friendly as HRM gears up for its annual Bike Week (May 31-June 9). With 50 events planned for the ten-day festival, Bike Week 2013 is set to be city’s biggest, most successful one to date.
Members of Council will be joined by the Bike Week Committee, dozens of individuals representing the many organizations throughout HRM dedicated to supporting active, healthy lifestyles, and senior HRM management.
When: Tuesday, May 14, 2013, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
11 a.m. – Cyclists depart Victoria Park and travel down Spring Garden Road, to Barrington Street, to Grand Parade
11:30 a.m. – Group photo on steps of City Hall
11:45 a.m. – Reception in Halifax Hall to announce of 2013 Bike Week lineup
HRM Bike Week is a 10-day, community-driven festival which encourages people of all ages and abilities to get outside and be more active.
