Dare to take on the Velvet Touch challenge?

Tuesday, May 21, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - In celebration of National Public Works Week, May 19 to 25, members of the media and senior HRM staff are invited to see if they have the Velvet Touch and can smoothly operate a mini excavator.

The person who can use a mini excavator to move the most water from one 45-gallon drum to another, will be the declared the winner, and will receive the "Velvet Touch Award." If someone in your newsroom is up for the challenge, please contact Beate Shannon-Hartlen, HRM Transportation and Public Works at 490-4862.

The competition will take place Thursday May 23 at noon on the Halifax Commons near the Emera Oval.
