Grand Opening Event for the new Bedford-Hammonds Plains Community Centre

Thursday, November 28, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – Residents are invited to join Mayor Mike Savage, Kelly Regan, Minister of Labour and Advanced Education and MLA for Bedford, HRM local Councillor Matt Whitman and Councillor Tim Outhit, Regional Councillors, and recreation leaders to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Bedford Hammonds-Plains Community Centre.

Date:       Saturday, November 30, 2013
Time:       2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., with remarks and ribbon-cutting at 3:00 p.m.
Location: 202 Innovation Drive, Bedford

As part of the opening, residents can participate in Zumba, yoga, and dance, or unleash their creative talents and paint a miniature canvas. Demonstrations in rhythmic gymnastics, judo, and hip-hop dance will be showcased throughout the afternoon.

Guided facility tours with Recreation staff will be available to explain the different recreation programs offered at the centre.
