HRM Celebrates National Public Works Week

Thursday May 16, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - May 19 to 25 is National Public Works Week, which highlights the essential role that public works plays in our community. HRM is celebrating the week and its employees who make a difference by showcasing municipal service equipment and hosting displays and activities.

When: Thursday May 23 (Rain date Friday, May 24)
Where: Halifax Commons near the Emera Oval
Time: 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

HRM Transportation and Public Works representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment and explain how municipal services are delivered to the public. Greenhouse staff will show children how to transplant a seedling, HRM arborists will demonstrate tree climbing, and Moby S. Loop, the recycling robot from the Resource Recovery Fund Board, will also be in attendance. School groups and children accompanied by parents are welcome.
