HRM citizens invited to help redesign North Park intersections

Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – HRM citizens are invited to help shape their city at an upcoming public consultation session focused on the future redesign of two North Park Street intersections. The intersections at North Park/Cunard/Agricola and North Park/Rainnie/Cogswell need to be upgraded. Neither intersection meets national transportation standards and both suffer from aging infrastructure, problematic traffic flow, frequent collisions, and poor connectivity. HRM has been exploring options for the redesign of these intersections and after a great deal of research is recommending roundabouts at both locations.

A public consultation session will be held next week to engage citizens on the proposal to construct roundabouts at these two locations and gather their feedback on the overall design and vision of this important peninsula corridor:

When: Wednesday, February 27, 2013, 7-9 p.m.
Where: Olympic Community Centre, 2305 Hunter Street, Halifax

The session will be streamed live online at www.ustream.tv/channel/shape-your-city-hrm for anyone that cannot attend the meeting in person.

Citizens can also participate in this process by completing an online survey at http://fluidsurveys.com/s/NorthParkIntersection.
