Deadline for HRM Volunteer Awards nominations fast approaching

Monday, December 2, 2013 – HRM is encouraging residents and organizations to submit their nominations for the 2014 HRM Volunteer Awards. The deadline for nominations is Friday, December 13, 2013.

The volunteer awards recognize the extraordinary contributions of individuals and groups who volunteer their time and skills to deliver services and programs in the community. Nominations are in three categories: adult, youth (ages 13-19) and community group. Nomination criteria and applications can be found online at http://www.halifax.ca/volunteerservices/awards/index.html

Successful nominees will be notified in March and will be invited to attend an awards ceremony and reception on April 9, to coincide with National Volunteer Week, April 6 - April 13, 2014. From those selected to receive an HRM Volunteer Award, ten representatives will be sent on to the Provincial Volunteer Awards.
