Dingle Beach closed to swimming

Tuesday, July 2, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - HRM citizens are advised that Dingle Beach is closed to swimming as precautionary measure due to overflows of screened wastewater. Black Rock beach also remains closed due to high bacterial levels.

Wastewater overflows can lead to temporarily high bacteria levels throughout Halifax harbour, therefore swimming in other areas of Halifax harbour is also not recommended for the duration of the beach closure period.

Kinsmen Beach on First Lake in Sackville also remains closed.

HRM citizens will be advised when the beaches reopen.
