Extra Alderney Ferry service for residents attending Halifax Harbour fireworks

Friday, July 5, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – Metro Transit is pleased to offer extra service on the Alderney Ferry tonight to accommodate the many residents and visitors expected to come downtown for the rescheduled Canada Day fireworks show.

The extended evening Alderney Ferry service will be as follows:

Departing Alderney Ferry Terminal:
6:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. (every 15 minutes)

Departing Halifax Ferry Terminal:
6:15 p.m. – 11:45 p.m. (every 15 minutes)

The fireworks will be set off from Halifax Harbour at 10 p.m., weather permitting. The alternate date for the fireworks show should there be inclement weather, is Saturday, July 6, 10 p.m.

HRM will use timelines contained within the Canada Day events cancellation policy to alert residents if the fireworks are postponed. See the cancellation policy here: www.hrmcanadaday.ca/documents/cancel.pdf.
