Free in line skating at the Emera Oval

Monday, July 8, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - HRM is pleased to offer free in-line skating at the Emera Oval on the North Common. Regional council approved the program that allows residents to borrow in-line skates, helmets, wrist guards and knee pads for free. A valid Government issued photo ID is required to borrow the inline skates and helmets. Participants that are in-line skating or cycling on the Emera Oval must wear a helmet, according to provincial regulations.

There are opportunities for public in-line skates each day during the summer, until August 31. Public skates are weather dependent, and special events may be taking place at the Emera Oval, so residents are encouraged to visit skatehrm.ca to view a calendar with in-line skate times, as well as other events. The Emera Oval hotline 490-2347, will be regularly updated with schedule changes. The Emera Oval is also open daily for general recreational use.
