Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency recognizes its 700 volunteers

Monday, April 22, 2013 - Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE) is honouring through National Volunteer Week (April 21-27) the many brave men and women who give of their time as volunteer firefighters.

Many of our 57 stations throughout HRM rely on volunteers to serve their community after finishing their “day job” – that’s a lot of nights and weekends. Our nearly 700 volunteers are first responders for medical emergencies, fires, and car accidents.

“Your efforts continue to make a difference in the quality of life of our citizens, and more directly, your neighbours,” said Fire Chief Doug Trussler.

HRFE recognizes your contribution and thanks you, the volunteer, for making our community safer.
