Street and lane closures due to street hockey tournament

Thursday, June 13, 2013 (Halifax, NS) -- CBC Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! street hockey tournament returns to the Halifax Commons this weekend (June 15-16) in celebration of the event’s 10th anniversary.

Halifax historically has great participation in this national competition, and this year is proving to be no exception. The Halifax stop is expected to bring in 560 teams and over 3,600 players.

In order to safely facilitate this weekend event, HRM is closing the following lanes and/or streets on Friday, June 14 until Sunday June 16.

• Cogswell Street between Robie Street and North Park Street (inbound lanes) will be closed at 3 pm and outbound lanes will be added to the closure at 6 pm on Friday
• North Park Street inbound lanes only will be closed at 3 pm on Friday

All streets will reopen after the event concludes at 8:30 pm on Sunday, June 16.

Play On! and HRM apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by these closures.
