Transportation for today's Mooseheads Day event in Grand Parade
Tuesday, May 28, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - HRM residents planning to celebrate the Halifax Mooseheads’ recent Memorial Cup and President Cup wins at the Grand Parade today are reminded of the following free Metro Transit services being offered for this event as well as temporary street closures.
The Halifax Mooseheads will proceed with the Memorial Cup from the Metro Centre down Carmichael Street into Grand Parade beginning at 12 p.m. HRM will be closing Argyle Street between Duke and Prince streets, as well as Carmichael Street, to traffic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pedestrian access will be maintained but motorists are advised to find alternate routes.
Metro Transit will provide free accessible low floor shuttles (labeled Special) from Mumford Terminal adjacent to the Halifax Shopping Centre, and the Bridge Terminal in Dartmouth, to Grand Parade from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on a load and go basis. Passengers will be dropped off on Duke Street beside the Metro Centre to proceed to Grand Parade. Shuttles will pick up passengers from the same location on Duke Street from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to return participants to both the Mumford and Dartmouth Bridge terminals.
Free Alderney ferry will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with service increased to 15 minute frequency during this time period.
