Tunes at Noon summer concert series call for submissions

Friday, May 31, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – HRM, the Downtown Halifax Business Commission, and the Centre for Arts and Technology, in association with Music Nova Scotia, will once again present Tunes at Noon, a weekly summer concert series featuring Nova Scotia performers.

HRM is issuing a call for submissions seeking performers for various weekdays in July and August. The Tunes at Noon series will be offered on various dates from July 24 to August 30, 12 – 1 p.m. in Grand Parade in downtown Halifax. This call for submissions is open to all genres of music. Performances will be acoustic in nature with no backline provided. Tunes at Noon will provide:

-PA and sound equipment (set up and tear down): 8 channel mixer, 2 main speakers, 2 monitors, 4 microphones, 4 stands, 4 DI’s and cables
-Flat rate of $200 per act
-Marketing and promotion
-An opportunity to perform a midday concert in historic Grand Parade

To indicate interest in this opportunity, performers should send the following information to Colleen Connolly at connolc@halifax.ca:

-A short bio
- Artist website - any website is acceptable, but it must house music that can be easily found and played by the jury
- A list of dates in the noted time period when the artist is available for performances
- Contact information (phone number, email address, mailing address)
- Name for cheque payment

The deadline for submissions is Friday, June 14, 12 p.m.
