Brook Street Closure

Thursday, June 12, 2014 (Halifax, NS) - Beginning on or about Monday, June 16, Dexter Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking construction activity on Brook Street related to the Lakeside Diversion Project.

This construction activity will require the closure of Brook Street at the Chain of Lakes Trail crossing location.

This closure is scheduled to remain in effect until Monday, June 23.

The affected area will be restricted to the following:

• Residents of Fairmount Subdivision located above Chain of Lakes trail crossing will be able to access their homes from Joseph Howe Drive via Springvale Avenue.
• There will be no access between Crown Street and Brook Street.
• No vehicular traffic will be allowed in the construction area. No traffic will be allowed past the Chain of Lakes Trail Crossing. Construction vehicles only.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to maintain communication with local residents and businesses, and help minimize disruption. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
